From the complete lack of activity on Mastodon I'm assuming that EVACUATE TWITTER FOR MASTODON day didn't have the groundswell that was hoped for.

The last few days have been super weird, health-wise. After a week in Ohio I suddenly came down with a high fever that put me in bed for two days; it lifted, and then I had an entire day with my body temp hovering around 96º-97º. No other symptoms. Just a bizarrely low body temperature. Am I a zombie?

I haven't logged in here for a while, but Twitter is increasingly bumming me out, so hi Mastodon!

I used to read PVP Online fairly regularly, but every time I remember to look at it, besides not being funny, I realize... every single male character in his strips is a horrible person in some way. I couldn't stand spending five minutes in a room with these awful people.

Per @astolpho 's post about music with sense memories, boy do I have some of my own.
The Verve, "Bittersweet Symphony" was playing from every radio in the UK when I was there. When I hear it I remember it coming from a farm tractor in Orkney.
"Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth..." by Primitive Radio Gods was everywhere when I was living in SF. I can smell the air and remember the sounds of the Fillmore neighborhood when I hear it.

Because it is Exceedingly Hot, here is my favorite quick hot-weather lunch, tofu 'salad'.
- slice deep ridges into 1 block of extra firm tofu (I like Trader Joe's sprouted), cold from the fridge
- drizzle with ponzu or soy
- shake a nice covering of furikake rice seasoning on top. I like "Nori Komi Furikake".

One drawback (?) of Mastodon... my parents always called farts 'toots' when I was little, so hitting the Toot button to send my Toots out into the world is high comedy for the 6 year old inside me.

Learnings from the weekend:
• The new Labyrinth board game is super cute, very quick, not the slightest bit challenging, and a good excuse to listen to the soundtrack.
• Zima, which I'd never actually tried before, is super gross, it turns out.
• Gosh, it really is "the humidity, not the heat". I hate being all sticky :P
