I beat the second quest for The Legend of Zelda (FDS) over the weekend to celebrate its 40th anniversary. Challenging but very fun!

I didn't miss out on the FDS homebrew this time!
@hydridegs Well I guess so, except Family BASIC offers native commands to define and move/animate sprites instead of requiring a gazillion POKEs.
@hydridegs The "character" here refers to the 16x16 sprite objects controllable in Family BASIC, not necessarily the text characters. The edited data can indeed be saved/used at runtime thanks to the FDS using CHR-RAM instead of the original cartridge's CHR-ROM.
So uh, the hidden FDS BIOS screens are still accessible in ACNH's new FDS furniture item. Why they used the earlier 01 revision instead of 01A, I don't know.
