This applies to me and I think it represents a further deskilling of the public service, you get what you pay for and currently we are paying consultants who deliver half baked solutions and then bounce while the dwindling work force deals with the actual work.

When our branch has branch days we need to negotiate for space. We don’t have enough desks for everyone to have them. Hotelling means no personalization, no leaving things “in flight”, no photos of family.

I’ve been working on cleaning up my bathroom this weekend. It’s still a work in progress, so far I have:

• Replaced the broken shower head, and corroded spout
• Cleaned the stained grout with a drill brush, and a hydrogen peroxide and baking soda mix
• Removed most of the old caulking

Time for a lunch break and then recaulking. The things I do for my landlord.

I really feel for those poor poor landlords who thought they could:

- buy property they couldn’t afford
- get rich by taking all the gains
- jack up real estate in their speculation
- Someone else would pay their mortgage and receive nothing, extracting wealth from the poor and younger generations

These people are over leveraging themselves to hilt to control a resource necessary to life and have the gall to complain when their “investment” has risk.
