Just a guy, on a K set, two rows behind you ...

Rail humour, other railway goodness, assorted transport tidbits, and anything else that catches my eye, even if unrelated to transport.

WARNING: may contain traces of factual stuff.

I'm still on a social media break, but this was too good not to share:

Train cancelled after squirrels board and ‘refuse to leave’

Aggressive rodents cause ‘pandemonium’ in Surrey as they attack passengers and force route to end prematurely

@greg they have - they now say "get off", if you get off on that sort of thing. 😁
@bf presumably defective, as there has been a temporary speed restriction in the area for about a year now - clearly not too bad though to leave the fix this long. It appeared to be a straight section just before the points, rather than the points themselves.

@bf they are replacing like for like, so no increased flexibility, but at a guess:
- reduction of risk of rail fault which might lead to a derailment
- lifting of the speed restriction, returning trams to normal speed over that section

I later walked up to Central, and there are other areas getting some work also, so overall improved travel times should be possible once it's all done.

Probably about a year after the TSR was put in place, work is finally being started on the points just south of Town Hall.

It's a miracle!

Last night I saw a bunch of people standing on the tram tracks to watch a busker. They were seemingly annoyed when they had to move to let a tram through, and were straight back on the tracks after it passed.

Some people have no idea, and the busker was only average anyway. 🤣

The dumbing down of #SydneyTrains announcements continues. "terminates here" has been terminated, and replaced with "ends here".

"The next train on platform n ends here. Please do not get on this train."

Sounds like the train is going to implode or something ...

*sigh*

@bf given the generally low quality of driving in Sydney, this does not surprise me one bit.

This train has ALL the wheelslip, despite the driver applying the power very carefully.

You may have noticed (probably not) that I've not been around here as much lately - just having a bit of a break from social media and stuff, only browsing occasionally.

Apologies if I miss anything, as the feed inevitably becomes too long to scroll through.
