I’m not a fan of voting systems at all, but about 15 or so years ago I was in a forum that implemented a voting system that was on the user’s profile.
You could give the user +1, 0 or -1, but in every case, you had to write why you were giving them the score. You could edit it, albeit not frequently, to reflect any changes.
Anyone going to that user’s profile would see the score and the comments, so you also couldn’t just go around giving a score without consequences. And the score overall reflected more on your standing with the community.
They tried to assassinate the vicepresident a few months ago on live TV, and now they are completely denying it by spreading propaganda about it being a “water gun” or even a “false flag”. They put campaign ads with government buildings blowing up on top of the poor. They send police forces to beat the hell out of protesters, natives, and union workers. They speak of dividing the country. They speak of giving up our resources. They speak of doing away with the laws for LGBT+ people, of which I am one.
I will not take the hit just because they are scummy and I should be a saint. The whole “they go low, we go high” mentality is why we’re in this mess.
