The hardest part about recently redoing our kitchen was finding a refrigerator that wasn't "smart". Having said that, we really do like our recently purchased wifi enabled cat feeder. No more worrying about power outages when we're away... That has always been my approach to technology - it has to solve a real problem, not just be a cool gadget.

He was arrested in Feb. 25 because he got lost and confused and some woman got scared and callled police, who arrested him and put him in jail until this month, when they called CPB, who came and got him and took him to detention. And then released him to die. The man came to the US for safety and spent most of his time locked up and then died.

I got the flu once, literally the day after my Dad died, which I attributed to stress, so I didn't usually get the flu vaccine. But, since Covid, I have also been getting the flu shot every year. I'm getting older, I work with vulnerable people, it just makes sense.
And I think that was the intent of the switch to "Scouts" - families thought the Girl Scouts were too woke, so they wanted to offer more "traditional" values to girls as well. Ironically, many of the Boy Scout community thought it was about making the Boy Scouts "woke". They needed to market the anti-wokeness of the move more effectively to their base.
In 1980, my four year old cousin died from Reye's Syndrome on New Year's Eve. I shout about aspirin use for children every time I get the chance.....
I got into such arguments with fellow progressives about Hunter Biden - whether anything technically corrupt happened or not, it just looks corrupt - I know the Trumps have done worse, I know lots of rich, connected families arrange no show jobs for their underachieving kids, but this was stupid and smelled bad from the beginning.
Its the person by person racism that gets me with this crowd. Often people in this situation have someone brown who is providing essential care, that they like, but still...it just the specific person they know who is ok.
look even if a non-citizen gets a legal social security number, (which you can, if you have a green card), they are required to pay all taxes, including social security, but they are not eligible for benefits. So illegal immigrants pay into social security all the time, with no hope of recieving benefits.
