Rosatom may be involved in the supply of raw materials and electronics to the Russian armed forces, taking advantage of the fact that it has not yet been sanctioned due to its importance to the Western market, according to an investigation by The Washington Post. Among other things, the company offered Russian arms manufacturers aluminum oxide, an important component for rocket fuel, as well as lithium-ion batteries to power tanks and other weapons. Customs records show that at least one Rosatom subsidiary has imported lithium-ion battery components worth at least $1 million from South Korea since the start of the full-scale war.
