@jentaub in my experience all right wingers care about these days is *winning*. I used to get into ‘debates’ with a college friend on Facebook (we had both been fundamentalist Christians but I decided that didn’t make sense with how I understand God). Whenever he would start losing (I.e. I made a point he could Bible bludgeon his way out of) he would pivot his argument to abortion of gay people. He is part of why I have abandoned FB.

Computer programming is creating abstractions and then abstractions over those abstractions until you can accomplish something. Sometimes you are developing in a place where you have abstractions available to you (Python), sometimes you don't (C)
