I am a computer nerd who lives in suburban DC. I was an evangelical, but then I realized if I believed God is love, I couldn't be one any more. Two interests I have (other than my wife) are Thomas Merton and Python, in no particular order.

@cyberlucida understood agreed not arguing just chuckling about it. I would not recommend this to anyone without giving them specific guidance but I am starting to find some cool stuff here
@jentaub in my experience all right wingers care about these days is *winning*. I used to get into ‘debates’ with a college friend on Facebook (we had both been fundamentalist Christians but I decided that didn’t make sense with how I understand God). Whenever he would start losing (I.e. I made a point he could Bible bludgeon his way out of) he would pivot his argument to abortion of gay people. He is part of why I have abandoned FB.
Getting an abortion in Louisiana is already nearly impossible. Now, the state's list of conditions that qualify a pregnancy as "medically futile"—which ignores science and patients' lived experiences—will make it even harder. This is terrifying. Women will die. #VoteBlue
Computer programming is creating abstractions and then abstractions over those abstractions until you can accomplish something. Sometimes you are developing in a place where you have abstractions available to you (Python), sometimes you don't (C)
