I did this account migration thing. Hopefully you will be re-directed here: @StevenDBT

Let me know of it worked.

Please boost. Thanks and may the blessings of the Daibutsu be with you always. @mardiroos @[email protected] @[email protected] @some_qualia

Daibutsu wa anata ga shukufuku sa reru to iimasu

The Daibutsu scans the horizon. There isn't much to see because he can't move, can't shift his eyes. But he has other senses. He reaches out with his lovingkindness to all corners of the earth and ...

WTF? Mastodon admins are still blocking bofa? Oh hell no!

(Dear #MastodonAdmins you do not want to piss of the Daibutsu)

In troubled times like these, I think it's important to remember the wisdom of the ancient sages.

Fuck you Trump for calling out Japanese PM with #PearlHarbor reference? You do that to Germany's PM over #Holocaust?

Better response from young man I know who, like my wife and two adult children are Japanese heritage.

Okay, I've been posting about the Daibutsu and you might ask why? Is this Steve being squirrelly?

Perhaps, but perhaps the Daibutsu can make a deeper point. Punishing those in pain, & making the person who is largely responsible for triggering their pain the "victim," is absurd.

As absurd as thinking a hollow bronze statue in Kamakura can post on mastodon. The better path would have been to do nothing - the old saw, first do no harm - then what they did do.

The Daibutsu agrees:

Daibutsu is sad that staff here are not following the first part of the eightfold path regarding their decisions about Will the Wheaton: Right View.

I'll try to explain - they lack insight and have let poor judgment and a failure of compassion toward the people suffering who came here for peace influence their actions.

Picture of the Sad Daibutsu as he contemplates this failure:

The Daibutsu never said "With great power comes great responsibility." He's not a comic book father figure FFS, he's a Buddha!

That is all. Now for another picture of acid tripping Daibutsu (Confess, you know you wanted it)

Just to be clear, being disabled doesn't make you a better, more ethical person. Like anyone else, we all need to work on improving that part of our lives. And disabled people have no monopoly on suffering. But, I try to learn from my suffering to better understand the suffering of others. Sometimes I take a step forward toward being better, but sometimes I mess up, too. So, the thing is not to quite trying. The five remembrances are helpful in that respect for me.
BTW, the Daibutsu really loves Jazz music, especially by Chick Corea, but don't let that out. He doesn't want to hurt the feelings of all the other musicians in the world. Anyway, here his is listening to Chick play:
