Just a weird, random guy
@owaincodes You might want to try community servers instead of official servers. I'm playing on a server that gives you the basics as soon as you spawn. Better clothes, a backpack, a gun, food, bandages, etc. Not so much that you're fully geared, you still have to put in effort. And it doesnt seem like you're dying all the time to starvation. KOS not allowed except in military zones. Quite a bit easier to survive. New Haven PVE, not sure if they have PC servers.
@MichalBryxi Good point, but I don't wish to continue discussing this, so I think the best approach for me is "agree to disagree" and disengage.
@owaincodes There are servers out there that mainly focus on PVP action, if you'd rather die to players. Just find a PVP-centric server and go at it. These will be more about gunplay skills as opposed to surviving against the environment. More plentiful food, less zeds, more gun/ammo spawns. So you can focus on fighting.
@MichalBryxi I could say the same thing to you. Humanity would be a very boring species if we all had the same beliefs. I'm all for diversity. Just because someone believes differently doesn't necessarily make one wrong or the other right.
@owaincodes killing zombies is another way, but you need to be efficient at killing them without taking damage. They can swarm you fast. Once you get the rhythm of fighting them you'll find that about 1 in 5 zeds have a food item.
@owaincodes DayZ is very brutal for new players. I've talked to many that said they were quitting, lack of food was #1 reason.
@owaincodes I used to play on PC. But now only on console. It's less buggy now than it was when I remember it. But they've def made funding food harder. You used to be able to find a can of something in at least 1 house out of every town you'd visit. Now, they're all empty. I think farming and fishing are the ways. Knives in pristine condition are hard to find, but you can craft one. So far my tactic is to plant food at the edge of map near the debug lands. Less chance of being found.
@owaincodes it seems we have the same bad luck. Starvation gets me EVERY FUCKING TIME. Or being sick. I'm much more likely to die from either of those than to a player. The devs need to make it a bit easier to find food.
@Extelec This is so ironic. Companies claiming to support your privacy, but having so many partners that they share your info with. I'm tired of greedy businesses treating consumers like they're a money tree.
It's a long shot. Am wondering if there are any PlayStation owners that play DayZ Standalone and would like to team up? I'm quite the freshie, still getting the hang of things, so if you don't mind that then let's party up.
