I am still working on the iOS 26 design for Topo Maps+, but I have to say that my initial impressions for using it in Topo Maps+ is awesome. This pic doesn't do it justice. It just "feels" so much better when I use it.
Last night I was watching "“Tribute to Failure: Climbing Mount Shivling in India” on RedBull TV and I wanted to see it for myself. So I fired up Topo Maps+ on Apple Vision Pro and it was a ton of fun to explore the area.
Topo Maps+ will be available for the launch of Apple Vision Pro!
From all the photos I took hiking this summer, this is my favorite. It doesn't have the best colors or volcanoes in it. I think it brings back the memory of sitting in my chain drinking coffee and watching the sunrise on Mount Daniels.
I had some incredible hikes this summer 😀
Spent the last few days testing out Topo Maps+ new map rendering engine built on SceneKit. The watch app is almost ready to go. The iPhone app still has a bit of work.
I can't believe how little I have used my iPhone for navigation this summer. I have almost exclusively used my Apple Watch. (I also haven't done any off trail or high alpine routes this summer).
I'm really excited to try this out on a real Vision Pro next week 😀
