The idea of having filters is brilliant!
But, do you see what's wrong with the filter definition form?
You can't specify the user or server instance to which it should apply!
Other than that... BRILLIANT!
Which is why I've adopted this for others to target their filters against...

But... it sucks!
I've always been conscious of the idea that people may be overwhelmed or turned off by the topics I post about. So I've always wanted a way to mark my posts so that people can essentially unsubscribe from certain topics. I also realize that while they may not want to read about certain topics from me, they may want to hear about them from others. This seems to be very possible on Mastodon. Three image to demonstrate:
1) My rantings
2) Another users filter
3) The rants they see
= No alienation!
