The work of artist Vanessa Raw has been described as "turning the male gaze on its head". I've never been taught how to appreciate/understand art but I did find her work arousing and so I'm confused about how it's supposed to not appeal to the male gaze (I realise that it will appeal to other gazes too). Any insights would be welcome!
