so although mastodon.social doesn't have an "absolute" or monopolistic centralized network, like what YouTube or X (formerly twitter) has, it is far more centralized than many, if not all, mastodon servers

The more people that do sign up on one single server, this now becomes a (relatively speaking) centralized server: twitter, facebook, and youtube are all examples of "absolute" centralized networks.

in 2025, there is a reported 300,000 active users on the mastodon.social platform. This defeats the purpose of a decentralized network.

for a decentralized network to work, you want users to be abundant across all servers so that no single computational unit has control over any process.

I don’t understand how not doing this is even an option, assuming trucks follow classical physics.

Or maybe that is the problem and the sign was too small for “trucks - despite the name, please don’t quantum tunnel through the tunnel”.

Recently i've been experimenting with GNU octave. The similarities between octave and matlab is so surreal you can run a MATLAB program on octave.
