curl -6 was pretty happy with it. I was able to get from host-meta to your atom feed without any trouble.
Kinda. You can export/import your follows & blocks at https://mastodon.social/settings/export and https://mastodon.social/settings/import
There currently isn't a way to redirect your old account to your new one or whatever though: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/177
so you'll have to do it the old fashioned way and announce your new account on the old one.
1) Same deal as if someone grabs [email protected] when you use gmail (Every user is @some.instance)
2/3) I agree, but making that not look terrible is kind of tricky if you want the full instance name (icons might work, but UI's still hard)
4) Not really. There's Export/Import, but no account-redirect. OStatus doesn't have migration stuff. See: https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/177
5) Ehhhhhh. That makes federation weird, and centralizes stuff.
On other GnuSocial instances, I've seen "Go to the original Status" links with a (unique?) icon. Are those icons an actual GNU Social/OStatus thing, or is that an admin-curated thing?
In either case, would it make sense to use those icons instead of an ellipsis?
Something like
@.Gargon@[Furry Elephant] and @.lnxw48a1@[Orange Q]
@J0 @Yumiscott It looks like there are two situations:
If you haven't already attached a picture, then setting a content warning will also turn on the sensitive-media flag-thing if you attach a picture afterwards.
If you've already attached a picture *and then* you set up a content warning, then the sensitive-media flag-thing doesn't get turned on automatically, and you need to hit the 'NSFW' button that shows up.
