I don't think they did it on purpose. It's very weird mistake to do honestly, but even weirder would be Uber risking all the lawsuits, PR damage and financial penalties over 5 euro, that most people will notice.

It's something we are hardwired to do. We learn from young age, that capitalism is the way to go, that people can change things only in some sort of abrupt rising and that idealists are just naive. We learn to be helpless, bitter and cynical. And don't believe this one guy, he is most likely crazy. Unless there is a book about it, or TV show, or at least some influencers talk about the subject. Then it becomes somewhat more real.
