A ★★★★ review of Oddity (2024)

2024 continues to be a great year for indie horror. Oddity is an effective gothic chiller for fans of Hereditary and The Blackcoats Daughter. Tight script, great direction and some jump scares which actually got me. I did quess the reveal quite early on, but there were enough little details to throw me off and keep me entertained until the end where everything was wrapped up with a nice little bow. Now, where can I buy one of those giant wooden men to host in my own house?

One of those horror movies that is very simple on the surface, but holds hidden depth lurking beneath. When I say this, I don't mean that it's super meaningful or some dark critique on our society or anything, it's just a fun and lean action horror.
