The first project was this beautiful design by Brianna of BZ Creations (@/bzcreations on IG). She makes projects I want to stitch and hang on my wall or give to my friends. Projects with *felt* which I really want to try. This one was *perfect* for one of my friends in Los Angeles (AND SIMPLE), so I stitched it and mailed it to her this week as a very, VERY belated birthday present. 😅 The techniques are basic and my satin stitch is *terrible*, but it looks ok from 5 feet! 😆 (3/3)

Fabric is 28 count black cashiel linen.
The circuitry pattern was adapted from Midge Porter Design (@/midgeporterdesign on IG), "Electrickery", available on ETSY.
The thread colours are:
- DMC 907 Light Parrot Green
- DMC 906 Medium Parrot Green
- DMC 905 Dark Parrot Green

I can't believe I never posted this project here on Mastodon. 🤦 I think its because I don't know too many #kpop folks here yet and my community is on IG, so I posted there.
Anyway, a fellow kpop fan makes machine embroidered fandom patches. Her ult group is #NCT, who I don't know a lot about, tbh, but their logo is great for blackwork. She has sent me patches she's made for free, so I thought I would send her a gift. 🤪 It was a quick, fun stitch!

The weather reports for Saturday were saying it would rain "all day". But then it didn't for most of it! So, M and I took advantage of this to visit the cherry blossoms in this peak season. We picked up sandwiches to eat in the park, which we typically do each year, and spent a couple of hours just enjoying being out in the sunshine and pretty flowers.
I was concerned about sudden showers and my embroidery, so I ended up just reading and playing mobile games. Next time, #StitchingInPublic!

I saw this beautiful film with @MauveAlert today!
Highly recommended. Bear in mind that I really love Shinkai's films, especially the themes he explores in them. "Your Name" is probably his most popular and relatable, but this one is similarly weird and lovely and an emotional rollercoaster. The soundtrack is stunning. The animation is gorgeous! I want to see it again. I may put on "Weathering With You" tonight before bed.
I swatched out my newest ink box and LOOK AT THIS LAVENDER SHIMMERING INK!

This is a blinding silver shimmer. BLINDING.
It's so pretty and I am trying hard to not acquire more glistening inks because I don't clear my pens as regularly as I should. 😅
I also like this golden yellow, even though it isn't the easiest to read. I don't really have a yellow in my collection. Further testing is required: I like a F nib and this may not look right. 🤔
#AprilCrossStitch is complete!
I finished the last of the backstitch this evening and trimmed the ends so it is fairly neat in back. I soaked it in Soak to clean it of as much of the oils from my hands as possible. Hopefully it will dry overnight and I can frame it tomorrow.
Such a pretty #crossstitch piece! It is also really fun with the different weights and half-stitches to keep it interesting as the design emerged.
Next year, I will work on the cherry blossom pattern, for a triptych!
