The Hubble Space Telescope captured this image of the Lagoon Nebula for its 28th anniversary in 2018. The image shows a region about 4 light years across; the entire nebula is roughly 55 light years high by 20 light years wide.

The Lagoon Nebula is a bit over 4000 light years away. The light in this image left the nebula around the same time the Middle Kingdom period in Egypt was getting underway.

This is a good exposure. I would even say well done but not particularly interesting other than documenting where we were. Don't get me wrong Sedona is amazing but when I'm looking at my work I want it to be different than other work not just a repeat of what someone else has done over and over again.

This is from our patio in Sedona. There was a haze up in the rock and it's not as red as it should be. It's a disappointing shot.
