Hey men, a tip:
In a professional setting, NEVER refer to a group of people "ladies". Even if they're all women. Ladies to many people has a diminutive connotation of talking down to women. It makes you sound rude and unprofessional even more so than calling a group of women "guys".

Just give a gender neutral "you all" or "everyone" or whatever else.

I'll never forget the one time I probably saved a thousand euros because I took care to archive a PDF.

I asked to register to housing aids in France, and at the end of the process, they gave me a PDF receipt of my demand.

But somehow, my registration had been glitched and it was never processed. After months of waiting, I called them, and they said they had no data from me. But I told them I had the receipt, which baffled them.

In the end, I sent them the receipt by mail and asked for them to do something. At this point, half a year had gone by since I first applied. Another few months later, they eventually completed my registration.

And get this: your aids are calculated from the moment you put your registration in, no matter how long it takes them to process it. They retroactively credited me with over a thousand euros of aids for all the many months of waiting.

Supposedly this was done manually, and thanks to my receipts, since they somehow completely lost my registration. If I hadn't archived the PDF, they might have told me to register again, and I would have lost like half a year of benefits.
