@maxkennerly @securingdev To what end though. Is this incompetence or is he legitimately trying to drive people off.

LOL this is not how you deal with "data scraping," this is how you deal with a catastrophic loss of system capacity.

You limit data scraping by blocking things a human user couldn't do, like access a thousand posts a minute. This is aimed directly at reducing normal activity across the whole system.

Lookin’ good!
Pepperoni, onion and anchovy pizza for dinner tonight.
Dinner tonight: Souvlaki salad on a pita.
A related observation from the Buffalo blizzard. In a regional emergency you only have what you have. I heard lots of reports of people being snowed in with no food. I get times are hard and things might be tight. When I was young and poor I always kept a few cases of ramen kicking around. While not being the most nutritious food in the world it’s shelf stable, cheap and only requires water for preparation. Something your belly is better than nothing.

An odd observation, when I was a kid if we were going to have chicken for dinner someone went down to the freezer and pulled a package of chicken out. The same for shelf stable goods except those came out of the pantry. When things went on sale we replenished our stocks.

Both my wife and I were raised this way and continue the practice. I’m amazed that when I talk to people how few do this. Literally JIT inventory in their own home.

Growing up we were far from wealthy. The primary motivations were cost savings and supply chain issues. Those same issues from 50 years ago are more relevant today.

Just packaged up some fresh chicken breasts for the freezer. Each breast was close to a pound. I’d hate to meet those Frankenchickens in a dark alley. 😉
I did not care for the Tabasco brand Sriracha.
For all you Sriracha heads out there, the great Sriracha famine of 2022 appears to be ending. I was able to get Huy Fong Sriracha at Target for $4.79 for a 28oz bottle.
