X just refused my Twitter login. Is this a thing?
Is there any reason to stay on Twitter, if just to occasionally throw bombs? My algorithm has protected me from most of the obnoxiousness (I never even see EM's posts - thanks programmers!), but does anyone see any benefit for non-maggots to stay?

On Nov 6 the Isreali military announces that it will not allow Palestinians to return to Northern Gaza.

This is ethnic cleansing & forced displacement. These are war crimes.

Joe Biden could stop funding this at any moment but even now he won't. Reckless.

Welcome to #textcasting!
"Applying the philosophy of podcasting to text"

I came across @davew's http://textcasting.org proposal. There are going to be multiple layers of standards that make up the federated social web. None will win, ever. Defining a lowest common denominator for the exchange of public messages makes a lot of sense to me.

Applying the philosophy of podcasting to text.

I see growing anti-refugee hate & fear.

If only the Bible had a story about a mother & infant fleeing death & tyranny to desperately seek refuge in a foreign land—maybe politicians would humanize parents & kids fleeing death & tyranny to desperately seek refuge in USA.

If Only.

Anyway. Merry Christmas!

You can listen to the Christmas Eve broadcast by the crew of Apollo 8 as they orbited the Moon.

Borman closed their Christmas Eve transmission with

“And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a merry Christmas, and God bless all of you — all of you on the good Earth."

Reuters has taken down -- globally -- an important hacking-for-profit investigation that included details about an Indian hacking entrepreneur -- because he got a court in that country to say so.

This is a huge danger to free speech and serious journalism.

Reuters deserved praise for its initial investigation. It deserves the opposite now.

(The New Yorker is apparently one of the few publications that hasn't bowed to the pressure.

Who Is Killing All These Stories About Rajat Khare, Controversial Tech Mogul?

A tech guru is waging a war on major media outlets across three continents, hiring a “media assassin” law firm to kill stories connecting him to “hacks-for-hire” controversy.

Imagine going to prison for an anti-America, pro-Saudi, pro-Russia, charity-robbing, cop-killing, democracy-killing, secret-selling rapist and traitor

And to other Republicans:

The line to condemn these threats and attacks starts here. Zero waiting. I’ll even throw in free Bud Light
