@viticci I think I have an answer, too: programming languages provide the highly-enforced structure and sanity-checking that LLMs need to excel. It's like the (defunct) left brain vs right brain idea — one side for creativity, one side for logic. A dreamer, and a thinker. Together, it keeps concepts well enough in check to create some amazing things.

I think we don't (yet) have that for prose, or music. But I could see it being possible, if we invent and teach the right abstraction layers

@chockenberry I completely understand how difficult combining would be. That's why my first thought went to a per connector mute as a less complex (hopefully?) workaround. Something allowing me to (optionally) pick which connector(s) a mute/muffle rule should be applied to. It might have other advantages say when I don't want to see a topic unless it's within a blog feed since that might have a better signal to noise ratio than BlueSky or such.
@chockenberry really enjoying Tapestry! Are there plans for per connector mutes or a way to combine the same post across connectors? For example if I follow Kottke or MacStories on Mastodon, BlueSky, and blog I see every post multiple times. Being able to mute them on one service or combine into a single post would be awesome!
@kottke How Ridiculous is such a great channel! Look up their tower drop videos. They just get more and more crazy.
Used @halide to get some amazing pics of the eclipse on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Took RAW+HEIC in hopes of one day knowing enough to maybe edit the RAW into a better photo.
@glennf thanks!
@glennf Backed and looking forward to reading it!
Comics related story: Nearly 30 years ago I found some comics from the 1930s used as attic insulation in Winnipeg. Any idea how to preserve them? Or if there's a museum or such that could?
These pics are a sample.
@_Davidsmith Hmm, I can't get it to fail. I tried restarting just now and it still shows the pic after. I then tried changing the theme and filter and each time the widget updated as I'd expect. The only time I saw the grey version like your screenshot was for a couple seconds after restarting before it showed the actual photo.
@_Davidsmith Specifically it is the Photo Day and Date widget and currently looks like this:
@_Davidsmith I don't see that behavior on mine. I'm on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with 17.1 and a small widget with a single photo. It shows just fine. I do have the current date overlayed on the photo if that makes a difference. Is there anything you'd like me to look at or send to help diagnose?
