I really Lemmy and Kbin. Both provide solid desktop experiences and app development is only accelerating.

One thing in particular I am having a hard time with is discovering communities. I know there are a couple websites dedicated to this but discovery on both Lemmy and Kbin is not very easy. This becomes compounded by the fact that some communities have fractured across numerous communities or magazines. Referencing different communities/magazines is also was more annoying than doing /r/dancing or whatever.

Is there a solution to these problems?

i like wirecutter too!
I got interested in it because I absolutely loved Ghostrunner! Have you played that?
Source?
Thank you for the well-reasoned response! I am definitely leaning toward Garmin or Withings because of their privacy policies.
I would use it for disposable searches once a flatpak is introduced. Right now it is too cumbersome to set up and maintain on Linux

What are the actual privacy implications of using a fitness tracker with mostly pseudonymous information?

For example, let's say I want to use a Fitbit. I download the app, enter my real height and weight, but I give a masked email, fake name, fake birthday, etc. I always use the app with a VPN.... #fitness #watch
