@NickGates Yeah, I get that. Progressive churches tend to attract financially stable people; not having to work on Sunday morning is a big thing. And the generational thing ... I ran the numbers to see if donations would hold up til I retired, and the serious money came from the first half of the baby boom and older. Second half of the baby boom and everyone younger gave substantially less - they don't have nearly as much to give.

@NickGates

Your client may be making unwise choices, but having recorded members' pledges and contributions for over 20 years while working for a progressive church, I dispute the massive overgeneralization that it is *never* the ones who can afford to give 10% who do so.

@Holberg It sounds like they got sprung from the animal shelter because someone adopted them.
@NickGates I don't see why this is automatically a bad thing, and I'm kind of stunned by the reactions you've received.
If more people gave 10% of their income to things they truly believed in, the world would be a better place. Some of us who grew up in religious traditions with tithing still aim for this in our charitable giving. I also know someone who looks at how much of his taxes go to the military and tries to give a comparable amount to charity.
@NickGates
I just figure all those people are not taking up space in the places I can get good food.
U.S.S. Hood

The 1619 Project was not a legal claim. It did not declare that the nation was born in bondage. What it said—plainly—was that America’s founding ideals were inseparable from its founding crimes. Black Americans were not passengers. They were agents. Not beneficiaries—Builders.

They barely go south of the 10, never mind Orange County.

The Dodgers haven't said a thing in support of the huge part of their fan base affected by the racist profiling ICE is doing. Shame on them. And Kershaw with his Bible verse on his cap for Pride night? Dude, we all know you're a Christian. Act like one and learn to love your neighbor as yourself.
@ditsch42
Nope! The very last episode is probably the worst in this regard, besides being just generally terrible.
