two potentially dumb questions 👉👈:
1) is it generally possible (legalities aside) to reflash modem firmware on mediatek soc's?
2) is there anything at a hardware level to stop the modem (i dont know the specific model this might be uselessly vague) from being used as an sdr?

@night its fairly like scriptable too right? like you could totally automate it right? and like make something to crawl the web for anyone perpetrating or defending it and like deepfaking them. you could totally just make a little ai vigilante to go apeshit. not that you should😬

at the very least all deepfakes should be watermarked and we should have laws in place to prevent someone being fired or losing job offers because someone else made a deepfake of them

@d0d0 naw on the legislative side we need to make this illegal in the first place. on the organization side we need to put extreme pressure on big tech to deplatform it

the only other avenue i can think of is the scorched earth one where anyone defending this and anyone in a position to stop it who doesnt gets deepfaked to make a point.

until the law steps in we need to at least have actual organizing to put pressure on apple/google to fucking ban this what the fuck?
