I currently am into D&D 5e and am running a game of 3 years on the system, and about to start a second. Additionally, I create some homebrew content for this as well!

I love my babies.

@folduptoys You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Try firm but cheerful and you might be surprised! IE:

"Hey, I wanted to reach out to you because it looks like there's been an accounting error on our side that made it into the invoices for you, and I wanted to see if we can get it corrected. My invoice said X, when it should have been Y according to the contract we agreed on. If you could get me the difference at you earliest convenience that would be great!"

@nickferris Really? I've heard great things about that, why was it not for you? Still trying to decide if I want to spend the cash on my own copy

Why on Earth has nobody introduced me to Goncharov (1973) before now? This might be my new favorite fandom, and it just exploded overnight! It's just such an elaborate tragedy, And there's already so many great readings and really deep dives into the character Archetypes the themes, the music... God I love Tumblr

@ossifog Sure enough, dunno how that cropped up in my timeline lol. Glad I got to reintroduce you though! What do you think of the new threats?

@zhoekstra Hmmm... Depends on the art style I suppose. The first image that comes to mind is sort of a political cartoon look, where the guy's "shaking hands" and exchanging checks labeled 1 bazillion dollars with his reflection.

Another is someone slapping a handmade price sticker on a garbage can with a similar "APPRAISAL: very valuable much wow" sort of vibe, perhaps signed APPRAISED BY: me.

Alternatively some sort of "100% positive reviews, review count: 1 pic?

@ossifog absolutely I am, Rock and Stone brother!

The have to seek a dwarven craftsman? A good history roll lets them know that dwarves are excellent mechanists. A great one, or seeking out research, lets them know they're crashed dimensional travelers.

If they chose not to engage, the need to know nothing, but the hints and the discovered knowledge often give the setting a feeling that there's always more to discover, and makes the points where I do get to over exposit seem like a reward instead of a drudge.

@frotz @kensanata

That's an interesting perspective! I've run into a similar problem before, but I hadn't thought of that as a possible solution. What ended up working best for me, was the concept of narrative details as a reward- my setting shares enough in common with the Standard Fantasy Setting that until my players need to know something, they can simply assume - elves are timeless, orcs are tribal, dwarves are craftsmen. Then, as they progress the story, I can reward them with info

@nekobakaz I mean, for sure. But also, people left Tumblr because they were mad about the porn ban, not because the new owners thought that the ability to log in was "bloatware" and had fired the people who had the keys to the office building...

I'd put money on the site just going down one day and never coming back up. Excited to see how it goes!
