I spent a few hrs trying to login to the app and failing, even though I was using my actual login credentials for this server (awscommunity)

If you try to use the Mastodon Android app, beware. If you already have an account, you cannot simply login. You must register for a new account, then pick the server you already use. THEN you login using those login credentials. Only then will the app work properly. You cannot login to the app as a current user, until you've done this. Don't ask me why, nor ask me why the initial login process is so weird. But that's the way it is.

The Matt Taibi story on the Biden laptop is a piece of utter garbage. Who cares what Twitter did or didn't do regarding it? What you can say is that Twitter didn't want right garbage content on it's platform. Good for them. The idea of free speech on a private platform is naive at best. The best you can aim for is a balance of free sueech with judicious use of content moderation to prevent it descending into a "hellhole." Like it is now.

My son survived the Seattle high school shooting today. He literally heard to bullets near (too near) his classroom. One child died. He was targeted by a 14 year old with a Glock pistol.
