@AnarComNet I was part of organising and connecting networks during the first stages of the pandemic, the a mutual aid where I am was given a huge Big Lottery grant and was doing incredible work, the following year they lost all finding and had to close as couldn't afford the insurance. Was truly soul-destroying. So many involved have now walked away as it broke them.
This is my worry in that people became active in ways they never knew they would, worked so hard only for it to all fall down. Empathy burnout happened in all circles and then the infighting took over, those still active put up their walls and collaboration ceased to exist.
So what ideas can we take to people, the ones who are now without their cause who have no idea where to turn, where to put their energies or who feel it was all for nothing.
It's been heartbreaking to watch it all implode.
I am lucky in that I can go do other things in different areas behind the scenes but in terms of creating a movement that cuts through the bullshit, energies people again? It's looking harder and harder to break through the white noise.
