I enjoy walking (including football!), cycling and scuba diving.
Now retired from a career in I.T. that included punched cards in its early days.
Wish we were still in the EU and that I had a bit more confidence in our recently elected government, although it is good to feel the country is at least being run by adults again.
Still watching Liverpool from the Kop, an experience that has now comfortably exceeded 40 years.
It would be a shame to repost this in every social media account you have. Grampy McPedohands is looking rough.

James Murray - the person who's just been appointed as Health Secretary, and the one who can put an end to our NHS's dangerous contract with US surveillance giant Palantir.

Palantir are embedded in our NHS - despite their links to Donald Trump and their supply of tech to the Israeli and US militaries. And even after it was revealed last week that their staff have "unlimited access" to our NHS patient data.

But Murray is new, and what happens on his first few days on the job can transform what happens with the Palantir contract. That's why thousands of us are flooding his inbox today so he can see just how many of us want that contract terminated. Can you take part by clicking below? It only takes 30 seconds if you send the template text:

Will you email new Health Secretary James Murray to end the Palantir contract?

Don't forget - there is a break clause in the Palantir contract, and we know that officials have been looking in to activating it.

NHS staff are already calling for this contract to end. Momentum is building against Palantir and a new Health Secretary could be just what we need to get this over the line - but only if he hears from every one of us urgently. Will you send a quick email now?

James Murray: Get Palantir OUT of our NHS!

I've just emailed the Department for Work and Pensions to ask them to fix their broken consultation on reforms to PIP. Can you join in too?

@aroundthehills @Walkaholic Would you be able to call using WhatsApp?
@JugglingWithEggs Making the by-election about Brexit in that constituency could, conceivably, cost Burnham the seat, which would be good for Streeting?
@emilianosandri @stefano The #biketooter and #cycling hashtags might be worth adding?

The poster says it better than most speeches:

When the scapegoats are gone, the borders are fortified, and the hatred has done its damage, the cost of living will still rise, the NHS will still be dying, and corporate vultures will still be picking our lives apart.

Who will they blame then?

What will they have gained?

A badge for barbarism against a backdrop of decay.

🚨🔥 Mo Salah statement.

“I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that”.

“Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it”.

“Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games”.

“Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on”.

“As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
