Eco-socialist punk and folk musician in Portland, Oregon. He/him

Since I know we will be hearing a lot from the Tucker Carlsons of the world about how the shooting in Nashville was allegedly perpetrated by a transgender individual, and that this was a motivator, I'm already gonna ask......

Did all of those other shootings happen because the preparator was cisgendered?

No?

@ClimateHubYYC yeah, but then there are the other renewable energy forms. Don't get me wrong, there is more that CA can and should do. It seems to me like CA could remove fossil fuels from its mix for electricity and make up the difference using heat pumps. Also transitioning out of being an oil exporter would be a positive direction.

Doesn't Canada already get most of its power from hydro? The US has a *long* way to catch up

Judging by how I get bored with zombie shows, I'm pretty sure when the apocalypse comes I'll kill myself before the end of season two
@Jeanvicwriter and meanwhile the landlords are reaching out to the suburbs and small towns. It will spread like a flood. Look at Florida, rent has tripled over the past couple years to the point where it's almost as high as here in Portland, but the min wage is $11. They are going to have the same problem only with less compassion. Conservatives can call this is a product of progressive policies, and that is only true because progressive are not nearly radical enough. Shit will hit the fan
According to rent.com, at $15 per hour (supposedly a living wage) you can afford $781 a month for rent. The average rent in Portland for a 1 br apartment is $1507. A couple could both be working full time, and still have to sleep in a tent on the sidewalk. But let's blame them for the problems our city is facing. Let's blame the pandemic. Let's blame protesters, drugs, or laws that allow the working poor to exist while off the clock. Let's not blame landlords or bosses. That would make no sense.

I just finished watching "The Playlist" on Netflix, and I gotta say.... As a musician and songwriter who also is a software engineer working for startups as my day job... I found the first 5 episodes repulsive, albeit impossible to look away from. But episode 6..... You gotta watch the whole thing.

And then delete Spotify. Buy CDs from that indie band you love and support. CDs sound sooo much better, and now that nobody owns a burner any more, they are precious. CDs are the new vinyl... again.

Working for Twitter stinks.

@chrismerkel I dunno. If someone was forced to respond to a push notification, it would be just as easy to force them to say what high school they attended. Hackers in Russia have nothing but time to figure out the answers to all of those questions, none of them are hard.
I was configuring security questions for a site yesterday, the only one that couldn't be answered by a geneologist was "what is your favorite food". I think they could come up with sushi within 5 guesses.

Who exactly is the audience for this regret? Nobody takes it seriously. Impeach her husband, and then she will know regret.
