Is the modern work world so fragile that you can't take care of emergencies that come up, you can't be sick, you can't be tired, you can't run late else your at the bottle of the stack? Feels like that's where it's heading, and if so, I wanna get off the rat wheel as I'm tired of running. 😧
Help never came

Solicitor: If I can ask, what are your objections to hearing me out on <insert product here>?

Me: Well, it is somewhat because I don't necessarily trust people who don't pay attention to posted signs, like the "No Solicitation" sign that's right over here...

Solicitor: 😡

People who demand you pay an Awareness Tax for any moment of happiness you experience do not actually care about solving any of the problems they demand you fixate on.

They just want to blame YOUR moment of inattention, so they can expunge their own equally pointless guilt about their inability to change the thing.

Think about bad stuff when it's time for you to help. Otherwise, enjoy yourself with your whole heart; otherwise there's no point.

Seriously.

Hey friends, I was laid off last month and I am currently looking for work! If your workplace is recruiting (esp. remote!), here's what I've done:

-about 10 years of tech support for ISPs and MMOs/virtual worlds (customer interaction, troubleshooting, excel/VBA, QA tasks, writing KB articles, CLI provisioning of network hardware)

-about 15 years of being a furry artist (photoshop, illustrator, wordpress, online sales of physical and virtual items, crowdfunding, con staff)

#writingwonders - What is your least favorite stage of writing a story? Well, I'd have to say the editing part. I used to edit my writing to death - getting more and more critical until I had an empty word processor page. One of the things I forced myself to do is *WRITE* - leave editing to others and to when I get done with the writing part. It would also likely be my weakness, overkilling with the editing.

@RJ_Dobbs - To expand on the being shoved and poked - being the only male midwife on staff means friction is bound to occur. When he gets his first job as a midwife at Meadowbridge Hospital, a registered nurse named Donna takes an instant dislike of him. She wanted the position but the hospital felt that being deaf/mute was a disabling enough that she would not be able to perform the fundamentals of the job. #WaltmansWomen #writing
#writingwonders - Has your MC ever been involved in a physical altercation? If so, why? Considering Kyle Waltman is about 5' 0" tall (152.4 cm for the metric crowd), he tends to try his darnedest to stay OUT of physical altercations. He has been the VICTIM of physical altercations a few times, in the form of being pushed or shoved, having angry fingers jabbed into his chest and having been slapped once. He does not raise his hands to others in violence, even in his own defense. #WaltmansWomen
Kyle Waltman shown in a model sheet practicing (arguably) one of the world's oldest professions, being 'with woman' - the motto of the midwife. The lady in the picture could be Lydia Breckmann... #writing #WaltmansWomen #furryart
