🎬✨ 4 OG Hindi comedies you can’t miss:

1. Padosan (1968) – Sunil Dutt’s serenade + Mehmood’s comic flair = timeless laughter

2. Hera Pheri (2000) – Akshay, Suniel & Paresh in a madhouse of misheard plans and “Utha le re…” moments

3. Khichdi: The Movie (2010) – The Parekh family’s crazy antics, Hansa’s one-liners, and pure desi chaos

4. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983) – Dark satire at its best with Naseeruddin Shah & Om Puri in full deadpan mode

Bollywood needs to pause and reconsider the image it’s projecting to the world—a world that respects and cherishes meaningful filmmaking. This franchise, once a guilty pleasure for its silly fun, has lost its charm and purpose.

It’s frustrating to see talented stars like Akshay Kumar and a prominent production house like Sajid Nadiadwala’s prioritize profit over quality. Cinema is a powerful art form when crafted with passion, but Housefull 5 feels like a shameless cash grab.
(5/6)
Instead of laughs or intrigue, the movie leaned on cringe-worthy moments and exaggerated overacting, which became its most memorable features for all the wrong reasons.
(4/6)
The storyline was cluttered with unnecessary characters like Akhiri Paasta and Batuk Patel, who added nothing meaningful to the plot. The film’s attempt at a thrilling twist—mysterious killings and an unknown killer—fell flat due to poor execution.
(3/6)
The female characters, including Sonam Bajwa and Jacqueline Fernandez, were portrayed as little more than eye candy, dressed in revealing outfits to serve as punchlines for the male leads’ sexual humor. Even a seasoned actor like Akshay Kumar couldn’t salvage the film with his performance, while Abhishek Bachchan’s lackluster comedic timing was as uninspired as Nargis Fakhri’s acting.

I recently went to the theater with two friends to watch Housefull 5, hoping for the same brainless yet enjoyable comedy that the earlier films in the franchise had offered. Unfortunately, we were met with a huge disappointment. Far from entertaining, the movie felt like a chaotic mess, relying heavily on crude double entendres and the blatant objectification of women.
