I am working with alpine/react/nextjs about a year now. Coming from 23y of development I think these so called techologies are a crime against humanity and should be punished by Den Haag.

Yikes. @ThePSF has to pause grants cause running out of money, while AI companies built almost entirely on Python and open source raise billions every few months.

Managing WordPress with config files

I am lazy. That combined with the need of managing an undefined amount of WordPress installations is not a productive combination. And since I consider myself a purist therefore I don't want to rely on external services or other plugins for that. That's why I thought I could write something which uses config files.

@Codeberg I want to switch with my project to you service (due to obvious reasons). I need to get the information about the latest release of my project from my localhost (https://codeberg.org/api/v1/repos/lauratheq/lste/releases/latest) but I always get 403. Is it possible to get the latest releases?

Apparently Automattic (the company behind wordpress.com) can not only steal you content and sell it to open.ai, they also can steal your Product, Code and Community: https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/#reviews

So, I like the #wordpress Hook system. Like a lot. And I really want to use this system in #python but I didn't really like what I found online. So I implemented this and wrote about that: https://working-directory.com/2024/08/02/wordpress-like-hook-system-in-python/

So, I have rewritten the codebase of lazywp and added a ton of new features. You can now install new plugins and manage your themes. There's also a dynamic help :)

Read about the experience and check the details (with a small video):
