Yes, this is a blatant grab for engagement, but the Fediverse needs this kinda thing to keep everyone engaged. You receive a message from a voice on high. You can pick one attribute from three different western superhero characters. No cosmic entities, no reality benders, no “attributes” that are basically a power set (so “the spellcasting of Zatana” is fair game, but “Superman’s Kryptonian biology” is not). The catch? 999 other people also got this option, and every pick is first come, first serve! What do you choose?
