Some Portland area #MagicTheGathering players are trying to get a letter-writing campaign off the ground to see if they can update the MXP Tacoma CanLander proxy policy. I encourage everyone who has even a passing interest in attending to send it their way

SUBJECT LINE [ Canadian Highlander Event MXP Tacoma ]
Hi, I am a Canadian Highlander player who was interested in attending your event at MXP Tacoma. However, due to the absolute nature of your no proxies policy, myself and other members of my community will not be able to attend. I'm writing to you in the interest of changing your policy towards having a "NO PROXY ALLOWED" Canadian Highlander tournament at your event. As I'm sure you are aware, formats like vintage and Canadian Highlander use Power Nine and other similar restrictively costed cards. In these communities disallowing the use of playtest cards is extremely rare and causes the vast majority of players to be barred from play due only to socioeconomic status.
Some members of our community attended your last event in Seattle, during that event due to poor messaging and this policy judges had to halt the first round and replace cards from almost half of the player's decks causing great frustration and many to drop from the event and leave. Because of this, we would strongly encourage a change in the structure of this one event to include 10-20 playtest cards and run the event as "not officially sanctioned" as per the norm in most $1K / competitive events in this space. Many of us will not be able to make the trip to your event if this exclusionary policy is kept in place.
