Every time I see someone call Space Invaders "an Atari classic" I want to go on a pedantic rant.

However, the Atari version is very important. It's a shame that the creator of that version, Rich Maurer, has been MIA for two decades. #videogamehistory

Well, I was taking the month off, but I got engrossed with the Japanese game Mystery House 2, a game I'd already beaten for MSX. I made some progress on the NEC PC-6001 version. The game is radically different. I delve into why.

And, as I have noted before, the Noval was the main development system for #Sega developers in Japan from 1979-1983.

Finding more software material would help teach us about Sega's development work on both sides of the Pacific.

The original version of Noval for schools - Telemath - has a good case for featuring the first ever EDUTAINMENT games (in the sense they had typical game elements, not just instruction).

The system was in use for about 7 years: 1976-1982.

One source for totally lost games is the desk-sized Noval computer by Gremlin Industries.

I just finished going over that portion in my book and it bums me out that none of the software is preserved. There were really advanced arcade and educational games on it.
