Teen on Musk’s DOGE Team Graduated from ‘The Com’

Wired reported this week that a 19-year-old working for Elon Musk‘s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was given access to sensitive US government systems even though his past association with cybercrime communities should have precluded him from gaining the necessary security clearances to do so. As today’s story explores, the DOGE teen is a former denizen of ‘The Com,’ an archipelago of Discord and Telegram chat channels that function as a kind of distributed cybercriminal social network for facilitating instant collaboration.

I've been living with similar in the UK for the last 8 years, probably more.

Not quite as extreme as what the US just voted for, knowingly or unknowingly, but still I lost faith in my fellow citizens and neighbours. Hate it here now.

Brexit and repeated elections in favour incompetent and frankly abhorrent right wing, racist nutters. I look around in the supermarket queue and think, did most of you fuckers want this? Clearly a lot did, the numbers don't lie. I'm done here.

I don't know exactly what happened but a big factor obviously has to be racism and misogyny.

Another is misinformed people mainlining Fox News disinformation / hate machine. The right wing echo chamber has been poisoning our electorate for decades. Lou Dobbs poisoning the minds of our nation's elderly every night, smearing Mueller...

Kamala had a pretty good chance in part because the abbreviated campaign schedule meant the right hadn't had a chance to do the full Hillary Clinton smear job.

No Politics. No Doomscrolling. Just lols.
