Trump has lifted sanctions on Iranian oil, so he is literally paying Iran not to surrender. This on top of also doing the same with Iran's ally, Russia.

The USA is now directly funding two of the three nations Trump claims to most oppose, right after Trump lifted import restrictions on China.

All of the senior military brass warned not to attack Iran, which is why Trump turned to the Fox TV cabinet instead.

And of course, Rupert Murdoch never met a war he didn't like.
