Did you know that the first English translation of Einstein’s work on relativity was done by two Indian scientists, J.Ch. Bose and M. Saha, who taught themselves German to access research in German journals?

Well, I did not.

James Poskett’s “Horizons" is a great read, that puts modern science back where it belongs: out of the hands of the white European lone male genius, into the middle of a global history of intense exchanges between all parts of the world. (Even a few women made it! Yay!)
