#HappyNewYear? Let’s hope so!🤞 I’m not big on making #NewYearResolutions (January is a terrible month to start new habits) but I think I’d like 2023 to be about just better appreciating the small moments…the warmth of #coffee cup in my hands, the sleepy weight of a #cat on my lap, a new #book, a blank page in my new #hobonichi #planner. Hope your #2023 is a good one!

The best part of waking up so early (4am!) is the chance to catch up on a bit of reading. #Trespasses by #LouiseKennedy has been on my #TBR for a while and it’s a cracking read so far. #Books #Belfast
@Hippyadam @MJCarty I rather love that.

Somehow I have just now watched @craigmod’s “Pizza Toast & Coffee” in full.

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say it is the most soothing and satisfying 5 minutes of video you could watch on the internet today. Go watch it!

The Dark is Rising was one of my most- loved books from childhood. I still have a copy of it, but not the original one as I read it until it fell apart.

Susan Cooper’s 1973 novel, newly adapted for a BBC audio series, has enthralled generations of children and writers with its folkloric tale of an English boy caught in a battle between light and dark

Looking for some advice from the #WritingCommunity next year I’d like to learn to write, I’m an antisocial little hermit who learns best from reading, and likes to be indoors as much as possible. The only book I’ve ever read on writing recommended the snowflake method and it was enough to convince me I could never write anything. Do you have any books using different methods you would recommend? Or other methods I could try which don’t involve me going to a course? All help appreciated. Thank you 😊

The Fairy Foxes

Folktale from Uganda. A king has a zoo with all kinds of animals in the world, but treats them very poorly. His fool feels sorry for them. He convinces the king there are exotic fairy foxes deep in the jungle, and the greedy king goes looking for them.
A few months later the king returns. He has found no fairy foxes, but he fell in love with the jungle. He decides to set all the animals in his zoo free.
