GAH - turn your github repos into static sites - programming.dev

Issue and PR threads are invaluable documentation for a project, it’s difficult to migrate to another code host when years of knowledge are locked into your old hosting service. So I built a couple of scripts to archive issues, pull requests, comments, and source code from github repositories, and to turn them into static sites! With the accelerating exodus away from github, I’ve heard from a lot of people that there aren’t any good tools for archiving that knowledge in a human-readable format, so I thought this would be a useful tool to make. The initial release is ready, and just in time for github to start charging for self-hosted runners! If you try it out, let me know what you think. There’s definitely areas that can be improved on :)

NASA has lost contact with a spacecraft that's been orbiting Mars for more than a decade. Maven abruptly stopped communicating to ground stations over the weekend. NASA said this week that it was working fine before it went behind the red planet. When it appeared again, there was only silence. Launched in 2013, Maven has been studying the upper Martian atmosphere and its interaction with the solar wind since 2014. It also serves as a communication relay for NASA's two Mars rovers, Curiosity and Perseverance.

Texas has launched a partnership with Turning Point USA to create chapters of the right-wing organization on every high school campus in the state. Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and Turning Point USA Senior Director Josh Thifault revealed the initiative during a news conference at the Governor’s Mansion on Monday. They did not outline any plans that would require schools to initiate the clubs, but Abbott said that he expects “meaningful disciplinary action” to take place against “any stoppage of TPUSA in the great state of Texas.” “Let me be clear: Any school that stands in the way of a Club America program in their school should be reported immediately to the Texas Education Agency,” the governor said, referring to the name of the high school clubs.

A Fediverse Enhancement Proposal (FEP) is a document that provides information to the Fediverse community. The goal of a FEP is to improve interoperability and well-being of diverse services, applications and communities that form the Fediverse.

The FEP Process is an initiative of the SocialHub developer community, a liaison of the W3C Social Web Incubator Community Group.
