This account is dedicated to astrophotography, astronomy, and perhaps other interesting science based topics.
I paired up my Astro-modified EOS 600D with a Skywatcher Evostar 72ed as an alternative to the cooled monochrome camera paired with the F7 102ed triplet in which I have been enjoying the last few years. It’s sometimes nice to have a change of gear and focal length for a different perspective on some of my favourite seasonal targets. Shown here is the Veil Nebula Complex and the Heart Nebula including the Fish Head Nebula.
Taken this summer in NL, Canada. 🇨🇦 #astrophotography #nebula #telescope
The Andromeda galaxy and its companions M33 and M110.
Captured over a couple of nights in late October this year. 3.5 hrs of integrated 180sec exposures using LRGB filters. #astrophotography #Astrodon #Astronomy
The beautiful Heart Nebula center, IC 1805. Captured over a couple nights this month. Ha and Oiii narrowband 50x300sec.

Captured over two nights this July, the Elephant Trunk #nebula is one of my favourite nebulas to capture. This year I used Ha and Olll narrowband filters to create this bicolour image. 3.5 hours of integrated 5 minute exposures. I rotated the image to this angle to show the dragon-like appearance.

The Cave Nebula (Sh2-155) another beautiful diffuse nebula in the constellation Cepheus, captured a couple of nights ago. Integration of 45x 300s exposures. #astrophotography #nebula #nlastro #Astrodon
IC 1795 aka “Fishhead #Nebula” a star forming region approximately 6000 ly away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Captured over a couple of nights this past weekend. Around 7 hours of integrated 5 minute exposures. #astrophotography
My latest image of NGC 6979 aka Pickering’s Triangle. Part of the Veil #nebula Complex. Taken August 17th and 28th. #astrophotography #nlastro
After nearly 2 months waiting for a clear night, I was able to capture some additional OIII and SII data to last year’s HA data from NGC 281 aka “Pac-Man #Nebula in the constellation #Cassiopeia. Total integrated data of approximately 6 hours. #astrophotography
This pic taken from my iPhone at around 3:45am doesn’t do it justice, but it was definitely a beautiful and eerie conjunction of the moon and Mercury this morning. The smoke from the fires turned the thin crescent moon a deep orange. #Astronomy #astrophotography
Messier 16, aka “Eagle Nebula” approx 7000 ly from Earth in the constellation Serpens. This #nebula contains the famous “Pillars of Creation”. 19x 5min (HA) exposures, captured May 31, 2023. Hoping for more clear nights soon to collect more photons for a colour image #astrophotography #monochrome
