@jfmezei We were just talking with leadnow about C-22 last week!
🚨 Bill C-22 would force every Canadian internet provider, messaging app, and cloud service to build surveillance backdoors & store a year of your private data. Foreign state hackers exploited similar legislation in the US — compromising up to a million people. Tell your MP: https://openmedia.org/StopC22-mast #BillC22 #cdnpoli @OpenMediaOrg

@stonykark We don't build tech tools internally at present. We use Engaging Networks and New/Mode.

@stonykark The specifics are complicated, but MPs only vote on petitions when they reach a certain threshold, when a given MP is supportive enough of that petition to want to bring it to the House.

We can't force them to bring petitions forward, and we can't contact people who only sign a parliamentary petition to give them next steps.

And even if your MP is bad, them hearing from you that you hate a bill does have some impact on their caucus discussion; it matters!

I emailed the bill’s sponsor (Public Safety Minister Anandasangaree) and my MP to oppose C-22. You can find the minister’s contact information here: https://www.ourcommons.ca/Members/en/gary-anandasangaree(89449)#contact

@stonykark But more importantly, please consider emailing your MP direct about this. They need to hear you don't support this legislation.
