Software Engineer and eco hippie
3.7p/kwh for gas
Scored 10.35p/kwh this last month woot!
Despite my best efforts, the house battery is fully charged and I'm exporting eco hippie power.

The energy crunch is set for tomorrow:

Charge batteries and prepare to stabilise the grid.

“We are also activating a Live #DemandFlexibilityService event between 5-6pm tomorrow. This does not mean electricity supplies are at risk and people should not be worried.”

Fun fact with the #givenergy inverter / battery. You can put your details into solcast, which is sort of a "solar weather forecast prediction thingy"
I've guessed some of my details. So it's not as accurate as it could be but....
It's currently this cold where I am:

The overall energy usage looks like this.
Key thing here is that the red (imported electricity) is huge in the early morning.
The house is then powered by the battery.
(red flat lines at 0/ turquoise, which is the battery goes above 0).

The battery drains but then the yellow, which is the solar system kicks in, the battery is then trickle charged - its turquoise line goes below 0.
This means we used all of the solar generation, coupled with the early morning charging to avoid the 82p peak.

Typical usage before the battery:
Our electricity usage according to the octopus app.
I'm using the battery to shift all of our electricity imports from the grid at an overnight cheap rate.
So 12p / kwh.
And that looks like this:
