@tendstofortytwo

After you pass the second CAPTCHA, you would get a third one:

"Please prove that you are human yet again"

The third CAPTCHA would be Cloudflare Turnstiles (i think that's how it's spelled?)

@gregthemiller

Funny story, I visited a website and the first thing I was met is "You've read your last free article" even though it's my first time visiting the site.

I didn't read any article, but this wording implies that I can read a certain amount of articles before having to buy a membership.

But... I didn't read any article, so I'm like

"I didn't read crap, don't lie to me, you stupid website!!"

@Hika These doodles are really cute!

Cloudflare is down! 🚨 Major outages are affecting sites like X (Twitter), ChatGPT, and Claude!

A huge part of the internet is offline now.

#cloudflare #outage

@itsfoss

I swear the internet must gotten cursed or something. O_o

@itsfoss

Wow, 2025 is really the "the entire internet goes down" year.

First AWS, then Azure and now Cloudflare. 😭

@ShadowJonathan

mastodon.social is sus.

Vote them out.

@FediTips

I just noticed this post now after I mentioned about the mobile app. Was it a recent change that there is a button that takes you to mastodon.social on the website? 🤔

It's been years since I was on the Fediverse, so yeah.

Either way, my point still stand. A button that takes you directly to mastodon.social, is a bad solution to onboarding and it leads to other problem like the fact that mastodon.social is really big and poses a potential threat for the Fediverse to be bought out because of it.

@FediTips

If I recall correctly, the official mobile Mastodon app have users sign up on the default instance which is... as you guessed it, mastodon.social

This, doesn't help either because a lot of newcomers are most likely mobile users.

I know that this is to make it easier for newcomers, but I think it just buries the onboarding problem rather than solve it.

@pixx Linux Mint all the way! 💯

The desktop environment is familiar, which makes it easier for Windows users to migrate to.
