I didn't really know Batushka until they were playing in a town nearby and gave 'm a listen to see if I wanted to have a look. If they play near you: go! It is an experience. Not much happening on stage once they start, but the atmosphere and tone is trance inducing.

This is our purgation, sharing our hopes and griefs with those willing to listen and lose themselves in the moment. We journey into unhealed scars and rip open new ones through playing songs from our EP’s ‘Life Isn’t Lived, It Is Suffered Through’ and ‘Deeper Into The Wound’ as well as our full-length ‘The Light Outlives The Sun’ and more recently on our latest single ‘ An Angel Entombed’.

DIY, 80’s nostalgia, vinyl and fast guitars: that’s Rites. With four releases including the new record No Change Without Me and over 120 (international) shows to their name, this hardcorepunk outfit is just getting started. Rites is not afraid to speak up about the current state of the world. Influenced by bands such as The Distillers, Dag Nasty and Drug Church, Rites presents high energy hardcore with a punkrock twist.
The evening will also include:
* Stand up-comedy by Jochem van Herwijnen (SPEAR)
* Hardcore lecture by Yordi Dam (Hard Tegen Hard zine)

Last Friday I saw 40 Watt Sun opening for Stygian Bough, and it seems to have come just in time, as it is the music really fitting in with my mood.

AntillectualAs a DIY band it's hard getting shows out there (and hard for us individually to find shows around us to visit). Bands In Town seems promising but isn't on the same level yet.
For Dutch shows there's now a new platform at https://calendar.askapunk.nl! Find shows you like and GO! The only way to make this work is when it's as complete as possible, so bands and promoters, make sure to add your shows there, DIY!

Antillectual from Nijmegen, the Netherlands plays a socially conscious, melodic blend of music, ranging from ‘90’s skate punk to ‘00’s emo and ‘10’s orgcore. Creating their own unique blend of stolen riffs and borrowed song titles, while carrying the torch of European punkrock.
Last week @Rites got to play our first show of this year, playing with Third Ego and @antillectual

For years I've been photographing mostly small punk and hardcorebands and sharing the photos through Flickr galleries.
I wonder how other people "showcase" and share their photos?
I don't think I feel like creating and maintaining a website.
