Hey, @mhayesgolding ! Look what my husband found at the library! Haven’t looked through it much yet, but wonder if it will produce done insights…
Draft of a classroom reference poster for the four main representations used in physics models. Happy to share the original Canva doc if you think it'd be useful. #ModPhys #ITeachPhysics
The anti-science movement is "organized, it’s well-financed, and it’s politically motivated. It’s doing a lot of damage to the country and to American science and scientists. And now it’s become a lethal force." https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/vaccine-scientist-warns-antiscience-conspiracies-have-become-a-deadly-organized-movement/

Looking for rigor, but also many many diagrams with intuitive geometric arguments. Also good exercises with applications!" [@ dodecahedra@twitter]

I went through this same search last year and always like a good textbook review :)

I'm also more opinionated after a year using various resources and mostly focusing on the AoPS textbook in the end.

What's everyone's favorite?

I like the approach this guy took to finding a solution: https://www.makerjosh.com/best-way-clean-whiteboards-9-tests/ (Spoiler: the answer is WD-40, off course. It is apparently able to restore the non-stick finish to a degree).

School pictures photoshop the blue background in nowadays. Took a closer look at my new school ID. Part of my hair must have been the exact color of the white background, because it looks like I have a dyed blue stripe right in front.

A very well written story about the Calling Bullshit course I teach with @jevinwest.bsky.social at the UW.

How's Your BS Detector? | UW College of Arts & Sciences

Frustrated to see misleading information published as fact, professors Carl Bergstrom (Biology) and Jevin West (Information School) created a wildly popular UW course and book, Calling Bullshit."

I've paid a service to delete all of my Tweets from the other place; they should disappear soon. It's scary. I didn't realize how much I'd tied to those 13+ years. I don't want to lose those connections, so I think the account will stay for a bit, but my pictures will (hopefully) be not-mined for AI
