I wish I could place my finger on this recent survey, but it was around 3-4 weeks ago and a part of it was about 18-25 year olds and I am pretty certain the take home message was that while they overwhelmingly believed in climate change, only ~6% were willing to sufficiently change their behaviors to deal with it.

Maybe someone else will show up with a link to it. I'm wondering how well I'm remembering it because I can't find it at all.

Some years ago the Danish meteorological society (full disclosure, I sit on the board) held an evening debate on cloud seeding, based on a film from the middle east and with a scientist from Israel who had been assessing experiments for many years. He was extremely sceptical it worked. I think I reached very similar conclusions to this excellent piece in #theclimatebrink. Cloud seeding can work under very specific conditions, but it's mostly a scam.

@ChrisMayLA6 I'm searching for historic inflation adjusted wage figures for the 13 years of Tory rule. Any ideas?
@simon_brooke Johnathan Cook has written a good explainer on this issue. Find him on Substack. Israeli state has been attacking UNWRA for some time, including killing many of their employees, as it gets in the way of their ultimate aim to get rid of the Palestinian people.
@pvonhellermannn wonderful stuff. I want to download this thread. So much to learn!

A neat deep time framing device from Peter Brannen:
- A moderately intense walking cadence is 100 steps per minute.
- Imagine that with each step you are stepping back 100 years…

After 20 steps in 12 seconds you are back to the time of Jesus Christ.

After half an hour you’re back to the beginning of Homo Sapiens.

Let’s say you do the classic 10k steps per day.

At that rate, it’ll take you 66 days to reach the Cretaceous–Paleogene (K–Pg) extinction event which wiped out the dinosaurs…
