Izzy can hear him breathing heavily from across the room, frowns. "Edward, what-"

He pushes the confusion to the side, let's himself enjoy the dinner. He snorts at Ed's jokes,
It's not till dessert, when Ed leans over to Izzy and cocks his head at him that Izzy feels the shiver of something - something not quite like fear, but not quite unlike it either - and he swallow a bite of pastry.
